Residents of the Round Rock community are primarily served by the Round Rock Independent School District (ISD). 17 of the district’s schools have been recognized as Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency while 15 have been rated as Recognized. Along with the economic growth that Round Rock has experienced over the last decade, the Round Rock Independent School District has seen its student enrollment surpass  45,000, with enrollment increasing by approximately 1,000 students every year. Examples of elementary schools serving the community include Brushy Creek Elementary School, Fern Bluff Elementary School and Great Oaks Elementary School. Middle schools include Canyon Vista Middle School, Deerpark Middle School and Ridgeview Middle School. High schools include Cedar Ridge High School, Stony Point High School and Round Rock High School. Two alternative schools also serve the community.

Test scores at the Round Rock Independent School District rank among the elite in public education and twelve schools in the district have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools.
